NaNoWriMo: Zoonosis Day 10

This second week is proving to be harder than the first, as one might expect.  Today’s total was 1,845 words, for a total of 15,073 words.  Here’s today’s snippet:

A cold wind blew across the deck. Hadrian stretched his muscles, and Karlis watched the men climb out of the helicopter. A few moved to the rear of the aircraft and opened the luggage compartment doors. They pulled a long stretcher onto the deck, supporting the body of a motionless uniformed man. Karlis guessed that it was the man they’d witnessed being gored by the boar on Ilha da Gama. He was, without a doubt, dead.
