NaNoWriMo: Zoonosis Day 6

I’ve just started Chapter 5.  Today I wrote just 1,028 words, for a total of 11111 words.  That seemed like a numerically interesting place to stop. Here’s today’s snippet:

The boy’s name was José Francisco Martín Ibáñez and it was so after one of the fathers and liberators of South America. He stood on the beach near the spot where the grass ended and the sandy dunes began. In the distance, his dog was tearing the guts out of a dead albatross.
