Foundling Review

He brought the elephant mountains of grass, and the animal thanked him by staying alive, by allowing him to get close enough to feel the warm breath from its grasping trunk and the twitch of muscles beneath its leathery skin.

As you may remember, back in September I posted about how Writers’ Bloc had closed its doors.  I was sad for two reasons.  One, because Writers’ Bloc was a good operation, with plenty of good reads.  Two, because I had been eagerly counting down the days until my story, Fortress Tower, would appear on their site.

Well, as it turned out, one of the editors at Foundling Review arranged to pick up the “orphaned” stories and run a Writers’ Bloc tribute issue.  A final huzzah, of sorts.  And happily, Fortress Tower was included in this lot.  You can see the story here.
