The Last Man Anthology

I had never felt cold like that before, seeping deeper than my skin, into my open mouth and down into my marrow.

The Last Man Anthology will emerge from its cocoon sometime this autumn.  Between its covers, it will feature 30 different writers’ take on “catastrophe, danger, and woe”.  The common theme is that all the stories detail the “last” of something.  Maybe the last human, the last copy of Beowulf, the last harmonica.  The anthology will apparently feature work by Ray Bradbury and C.J. Cherryh.  And of course, my story, 水.

水 is the Chinese character for water, and is pronounced “shui” (sounds a bit like “shwey”).  It is said with a 3rd tone, which means you start high, drop down, and then go back up.  Gotta love tonal languages.

I’ll provide more information about the anthology when it’s officially out on the shelves.

Gan Bei!
